Brief History

Building Africa - BUA is a Non-Profit, non-Governmental organization based and founded in Kenya that was set up in the year 2001 to aid in Poverty Eradication in Kenya and East Africa in general. Through local support and international well wishers and Donors, we have been working hard to try and bridge the ever present poverty cycle. Building Africa has grown and has a strong presence in the East African region with over 50 affiliates in 5 countries and with an aim to expand across the entire African continent.

How do we work?

Finance & Investing

By nurturing relationships with like-minded organizations and private individuals, we're able to unlock new sources of capital and scale up our work far beyond what traditional funding can do alone. Our aim is to aid in the National Development of Visions and various Development Policies, which impact on programmes, actions, initiatives and agendas capable of complete elimination of poverty in starting from East African Community member States.

Technology & Innovation

Utilizing and adapting technologies familiar to the developed world, we can provide all local stakeholders involved either directly or indirectly with support to improve their well-being and livelihoods.

Building Africa main objective is to promote and develop a holistic, multi-canopy, multidisciplinary and multi-sectorial/ pillar networking approach, plus integrated and coordinated strategies for the building of Africa by complementing and supplementing Government policy programs and by establishing and fostering working pillar canopies, programs, strategies, alliances, friendships, partnerships, co-operations, Associations, hand-lending, contacts, bridges, and joint activities between governments, the private sector, NGOs, GSOs, CBOs,civil societies, donors and individuals at International, Continental, Afri-regional, Sub-regional, national, institutional and local community levels.
